ZLINE Refrigerator Review - Appliance Educator Before You Buy Recap
/In our latest review video, we showcased the highly anticipated ZLINE French Door Refrigerator. This refrigerator comes in both classic stainless steel and black stainless. Based solely on looks, the ZLINE fridge is comparable to the Forno fridge we previously reviewed, as both are French door refrigerators with two bottom freezer compartments. Aesthetically, one of the first things we noticed was the stunning handles. Unlike the Forno fridge, The ZLINE fridge handles are more likely to match your other appliances as they come equipped with traditional-styled handles. Overall the fridge has a heavier and industrial-style look.
Using the freezer, you’ll notice there are two separate drawers for your items. The bottom freezer drawer has two cavities to use for the bulk of storing. The top drawer has two cavities for smaller freezer items, as well as a built-in ice maker. The ice maker can be conveniently pulled out in order to access more ice. Our favorite thing about having the freezers on the bottom of the fridge is that we find it more convenient than having it take up an entire side of the fridge, for the sake of saving space.
For the refrigerator itself, it has two french doors, with roughly 12 cubic feet of storage space. Inside the fridge, there are four independent and customizable shelves that are very modular. The bottom right shelf has the ability to be collapsed and pushed back for the sake of taller items below. There is a generous amount of space on the door containers since there is no water filtration system taking up space, but ZLINE does plan on coming out with a refrigerator that includes a water filtration system at some point in the near future. There are also fruit and vegetable crisper drawers that can be changed in temperature on command in order to keep your items fresh longer, along with an additional crisper drawer below for more storage space.
There are no control panels on the outside of the fridge, but rather on the inside of the unit. We find this more convenient because if the doors need to be taken out for any specific reason you don’t have to deal with any electrical work. On the control panel, you are able to set the temperature of the fridge anywhere between 34 and 44 degrees Fahrenheit, along with a “Super Cool” option that sets it straight to 34 degrees. You can also change the temperature of the freezer anywhere from -7 to 7 degrees Fahrenheit with the “Super Freeze” option.
Aside from aesthetics and functionality, the ZLINE French Door Refrigerator has a 1-year parts and labor warranty. This covers the cost of parts and a repairman for an entire year. There is also a 5-year sealed parts warranty to cover the following four years. A sealed parts warranty covers inner parts of the fridge including the compressor, evaporator, condenser, dryer and connection tubing. This fridge also has R-600 coolant, which is not harmful to the environment, and is Energy Star rated.
Overall we are very impressed with the long awaited ZLINE French Door Refrigerator. Some of our favorite features include the “Super Cool” and “Super Freeze” capabilities on the control panel inside the fridge. You can order your ZLINE Refrigerator today at The Range Hood Store.
