Appliance Educator Podcast Episode 3 & 4 Recap
/With a new podcast episode comes a new recap blog, and this one is an early favorite of ours! In episode 3, Ken Allwine of the YouTube Channel Busy Dad’s Workshop joins us to discuss being a DIY influencer, how he grew his channel and some great DIY tips!
Allwine mentions how he has been on YouTube for 11 years and focuses on making content he is proud of and loves rather than focusing on statistics, and he has had success with his highest viewed video at 50k views. His main focuses are home improvement and gardening. He is even considering a way to get electrical work out to his garden so that he can use power tools and other potentially beneficial devices in their garden.
Host Drew Pearson asks Allwine about when he discovered ZLINE and Appliance Educator, and Allwine talks about how the ZLINE 48” Dual Fuel Range stood out to him instantly, and he knew he wanted to collaborate. Explore the ZLINE RA48 here.
In episode four of the podcast, Drew sits down with Chris and Christy Thompson, owners of Medley Food Co. and Atlas Kitchen Concepts. In this episode, Chris and Christy discuss how they got their start in food trucks, home kitchens, and how they compare building out custom commercial and home kitchens.
Chris and Christy decided to go in the direction of purchasing a good truck because it checked many of their boxes, and added flexibility for them to take care of their kids. They also wanted to bring a healthier take to burgers and barbeque to the food truck scene in Reno, NV.
Later, they go on to discuss the difference between a food truck build and a commercial kitchen. Some of the main differences were interactions with staff and plumbing. The next step for them is to perfect their strategy and recipes to ensure growth and that everything goes smoothly.
