Appliance Educator Podcast Episode 5 Recap
/In our latest podcast episode, Host Drew Pearson talks with our very own Appliance Educators, Matt and Nick. Listeners get to hear more about how we (Appliance Educator) got started, and how Nick and Matt grew passionate about DIY and teaching others about it as they go.
Nick started his background in events and production and discusses how he wanted to learn more about enhancing production with Appliance Educator. Matt got started because as a young child he enjoyed helping his mother around the house with different projects.
When Matt started Appliance Educator, he started with the idea of learning and teaching at the same time. He did his research so the Appliance Educator listeners didn't have to. He encourages criticism so that he can continue to grow along with our listeners.
Next, the Appliance Educators go on to discuss their first DIY projects. For Nick, it was fixing a leak in his shower. For Matt, it was a bit more complex. At one of his first homes, his dryer wasn’t working, and his landlord was not willing to pay for someone to fix it. So he did his own research and fixed the dryer on his own. And that was the beginning of Appliance Educator!
Research is the most important thing to the Appliance Educators. There are often many ways to do one task. They have fun doing the research and getting feedback from listeners and YouTube subscribers on ways they could have done it better. They find most of their feedback from reliable brands, and also watch many YouTube videos to visualize exactly what they need to do.
Later they go on to discuss Appliance Educator behind the scenes, how they come up with their ideas, and how far they have come from the beginning of Appliance Educator.
